Hellgate: London Bosses

Check it out. IGN has posted a video oif probably the most awesome bosses I have ever seen in a onling RPG game. They truly look badass and I can’t wait to get fight em off myself. Why oh why must we wait til October 31st? It is true that if you pre-order the game you get into the beta (I did) but, unfortunately, I had to stop myself from playing it. You see I like games to be fresh and new and since I know they are going to be wiping the characters I decided to stop playing and wait for retail. Oh well. Enjoy the video above.

UT3 Collector’s Edition for PC

ut3_collectors_080107.jpgToday, Midway has announced a PC Collector’s Edition for their upcoming insta-smash hit game, Unreal Tournament 3. Personally, I never fully understood the reason behind nabbing one of these CE editions. Do gamers really want an art book as well as a “making of the game” to be included with there real game? I guess so since devlopers and publishers keep making em.

Inside the CE edition of UT3 you can expect to find an art book (surprise!) and a making of dvd (no f-ing way). In addition to these extras you can also expect to get your game in a nice tin box, as opposed to the crappy plastic the rest of us shall get. The CE edition is currently available for preorder, and will retail at $59.95.

UT3 NO Cross Platform Play.

ut3001.jpg

Mark Rein, head honcho for Epic, has confirmed, in an online “chat with the devs via IRC”, that there will be NO cross platform play between the PS3 and PC versions of Unreal Tournament 3. At first I was a little sad because of this news but Rein brought up a good point as to why they decided not to:

“The biggest challenge in doing cross platform play is syncronizing the builds such that the build on the PC is 100% compatible with the build on the PS3. Unfortunately (or fortunately) when you games on console you have a lengthy certification process to go through each time you release anything new… We looked at how this would impact our ability to respond quickly to things happening at internet speed on the PC side of the equation and realized that would not be in the best interests of our very loyal PC user base because we would constantly be holding on to updates to wait until they passed cert on the console platform.”

It certainly would suck not to get an update because Sony won’t certify their update for their system. . . Rein goes on to say that cross-platform play is not ruled pout altogether and may be brought out down the line sometime, although it is doubtful.

DELAYED: Assassin’s Creed (PC)

assassinscreed001.jpg

Well it’s been confirmed. . . Assassin’s Creed will be delayed for the PC. Why? Who knows, to be quite honest Ubisoft doesn’t give to craps about our gaming platform. Their games are always riddled with bugs and constantly delayed for what seems like no good reason. It is so sad.

The PS3 and 360 versions of Assassin’s Creed are still on target to be released this November, however our own version will not be released until sometime in early 08′. No exact date is given.

New PC Games this Week! 09/23/2007 Edition

settlersriseofanempireboxart_160w.jpgAnother week, another batch of games. What makes this week different? Well we have a new iteration of the highly praised franchise Settlers on board thats what. These games are good, in fact I loved loved loved Settlers II, so hopefully, reviews willing, this game turns out to be just as good. Although knowing Ubisoft’s reputation with PC games anything could happen. . . In otehr video game news we have a Company of Heroes Xpac as well as a mediocre WWII FPS game. Check out the list below:

And that is that. Loki: Mythology of Heroes actually looks pretty decent so I may pick that up, but more thanj likely my money will end up with Settlers. I just lvoe strategy games so much. See you guys next week.

DELAYED: Crysis Demo

crysis-box-art.jpgSo I was browsing the intertubes today whan I came across some near-devastating news: The Crysis Demo, which was too be released tomorrow, September 25th, is now being pushed back to October 26th, a whole month from now! *tear*

There is a lot of buzz going on around the net that the reason for the delay is because of some other “supposedly” big game called Halo 3 is launching as well. I guess, I’ve never heard of it. . . kind of. Anyways that doesn’t matter! We will probably never know the real reason for the delay.

In other, potentially hope-raising, news Crytek has officially announced that the big surprise being bundled with the demo is the CryEngine 2 - Sandbox 2 game editor! Which sounds awesome. Who knew the guys at Crytek were planning on giving us tool to create our own “makeshift” Crytek 2 game?

Crysis Minimum Specs Revealed

crysis-box-art.jpgCrysis, the game that is supposed to “wow” us all, which is hitting the PC-only this November has let loose one of its most secretest of secrets. Well it’s not that secret but it was definitely something that EA didn’t want to release this early. Now, courtesy of GamesRadar, we have gotten our hands on the very same information.

Below are the minimum required specs for Crysis. The specs are actually quite surprising as it seems you won’t need a super computer to run the game, in fact even computers that are 3-4 years old look like they’d be able to do so. Which is aweomse for me cause I just recently built a new one for myself, DX10 compatible. . . oh ya.

Crysis minimum requirements

CPU: Intel P4 2.8Ghz or AMD equivalent
RAM: 1GB
Video Card: 6800GT (256mb) or ATI/AMD Radeon 9800 Pro (256mb)
HDD Space: 16GB
OS: Microsoft Windows
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible

Fury DevChat/Interview

fury3.jpg

So, last night, I got to participate in a interview session with the developers of Fury. It was throuhg MMORPG.com that I was able to get such an oppurtunity. They hosted the whole spiel. During the interview many of my questions got answered, as well as some. . . less than knowledgable questions. Those don’t really matter, what DOES matter is that they do have planned expansions coming (both free and paid). In addition to this they told me that their maps can evolve very easily depending on players actions and reactions. Sounds like it could be fun.

AMD Phenom 3-Cored Processor

phenom_l.jpg

Today, in the wee hours of the morning. . . well for me at least, AMD decided to announce its brand new, oft-rumoured, third-core processor the Phenom. The processor is set to be released in Q1 of next year (sorry not Christmas processors for you this year) with a price of. . . well they didn’t give me a price so who knows. . . my guess would be at least $250+. Don’t quote me on that.

What is most interesting about this core, though, is that it will be the first 3-cored processor ever. Intel went straight from 2 cores to a quad-core. They didn’t even think about doing a tri-core. Who knows what kind of positive/negative affect this will have when compared to dual and quad-core computers. We’ll find out next year though.
