So, a couple days ago LucasArts and BioWare came out and announced that they were working together, again, on a new unnanounced project. Naturally, millions around the world over took this to mean that they were making an MMORPG based off their Knights of the Old Republic game. I don’t think so. You can read why I don’t think so HERE.
So what could this possibly mean? Naturally there are a few franchises that LucasArts owns that BioWare could take full advantage of the most obvious being the Star Wars franchise, again. Could they possibly be making a Knights of the Old Republic 3? Yes, however they could also equally be making a game based on Lucas’ other hit franchise, Indiana Jones. The fourth movie is in production now so they may be wanting to release a hit game along with the movie. Of course my guess is as good as yours. I’m just throwing ideas about.

FASA Studios, the developer behind Shadowrun, has decided to close its dorrs and officially get out of the business. As a studio they only produced one title, and it was a title that what highly criticized. Many believe this is why the studio is closing in the first place. But let’s face it, Shadowrun never stoof a chance anyways. It was being released in all the wrong times and didn’t get nearly enough marketing money as it needed to flourish. One could almost think that Microsoft wanted this title to fail.
In anycase, the studio is closed. Half of its’ members found new homes within MGS (Microsoft Game Studios) and the other half. . . well they are probably searching Monster.com right now. Here’s to you FASA. . .

Just a reminder, E For All, Los Angeles’ newest video games convention, will be here in late October. I’m not one to pitch things but this is definitely one convention you may want to attend, if for nothing else other than to make my life easier. You see, it is far easier for me to attend this as I live only 20 minutes away. So please attend, I’ll be there!
In other E for All news, Microsoft today has announced they will not be making the trip. Bummer, I know. However, there are already several top-notch gaming companies going anyways. Nintendo, EA, Konami, THQ, Namco/Bandai, etc have all signed on to put on a great show for us. Maybe we can get some play-time with Spore. . .

THQ, in association with Volition Games, has announced that there will be a new Red Faction game being made for the PC and next gen consoles. How awesome will that be? Unfortunately, the announcement was all we got as THQ didn’t feel it was the right time to give us any screenshots or information whatsoever.
For those that never played the original Red Faction games they were built for the PS2 and used a GeoMod engine that allowed players to destroy the environment and blow holes through walls. It was loads of fun. Although it wasn’t very refined back then, with today’s technology I am sure they will be able to make some very beautiful scenery that we can destroy. No estrimated release date yet.

According to a press release sent out yesterday, John Smedley, the president of SOE, is going to announce a brand new SOE title a tthe SOE fan faire in Las Vegas later this week. This will be John’s very first time giving a public speech as the head of SOE and nobody knows exactly what game it will be.
SOE already has a lot of their plate right now with Gods & Heroes, Pirates of the Burning Sea, and The Agency all being worked on so it’s hard to imagine that they have yet another game in the works already. Perhaps it will be an Everquest 3? I find it hard to believe that Sony will let that cashcow die off. Stay tuned for more information as it gets revealed.
Hey guys. . . we crashed. Sorry, it was nobody’s fault really. I just got a little sleepy and fell asleep at the wheel. No big deal, right? Everybody is fine and all is well.
Seriously though, some of you may have noticed that our site has been down for about 15 hours. I’m not entirely sure what was wrong but needless to say it has been fixed. There was some sort of database error. Luckily, nothing was lost and now here we are back to reporting all the PC gaming news you could EVER want. Make to the grind gents!
Loves and kisses.
So there has been a lot of drama going on over in Microsoft’s court today. It all seemed to explode when Peter Moore (head over the Xbox 360) decided to resign from his potion and seek greener pastures over at EA Sports. Why does this matter to us, the PC gamers? Because his replacement, Don mattrick (pictured), has been chosen not only to lead the Xbox 360 but also spearhead the Games for Windows initiative.
I am not entirely sure what this means, or if this will change any of the directions that Games for Windows in currently heading, however, I do know that Mattrick is an industry vet. He has years of experience at EA. No word on an official press release from Mattrick, but as soon as I get one I’ll be sure to deliver it to you guys.
Here’s hoping that Mattrick has the ability to lead the PC platform, as well as our Xbox brothers.

As many of you probably already know, it was a pretty much a fact that Gears of War was coming to the PC. Well I have just finished with the E3 Microsoft Press Conference and I am now telling you that it is CONFIRMED. Not only is it a confirmed game coming for the PC but there are a whole slew of PC-extra goodies coming with the game when it lands this holiday season. Check it out:
- Game Editor (for maps I am assuming).
- Will be using “Games for Windows Live!”
- Five (5) new chapters not in the Xbox 360 version.
- One (1) new multiplayer mode.
- Will work with Microsoft XP or Vista.
- You will finally be able to fight against the legendary creature from the very first Gears of War trailers called the Brunak. (I probably misspelled that)
There hasn’t yet been a price announced but I wouldn’t expect anything over $50. As I said before the game will launch this holiday season. I, personally, can’t wait to get my hands on it. Tune in all throughout the week for E3 PC gaming news!

So the Microsoft Press Conference just ended. I watched it from the very beginning to the very end. As many of you would expect it was mainly based on the Xbox 360 console, big surprise huh? I was actually getting worried they weren’t going to feature the PC platform at all until they made some choice announcements. Starting this holiday season here is what you can expect on Games for Windows:
- Gears of War
- Viva Pinata
- Sega will be using Games for Windows Live!
- Eidos will be using Games for Windows Live!
- THQ will be using Games for Windows Live!
- Over 60 developers have embraced the Games for Windows logo.
All of this stuff is supposedly coming by the holiday season, and ALL of it is good news. I’ll try and keep up with the rush of PC gaming information for the rest of the week as much as possible. Stay tuned for more PC E3 info!
