The Office: The Game!

office722_embed.jpg

I was always a bit sad that I never got into this series. It seemed like one of those subtle funny comedies like Arrested Development (which I LOVED). Guess I’ll have to pick up the seasons as they become available. *sigh*

Or. . . I can just play the game! Thats right the show entitled The Office, on NBC, is being made into a video game for the PC (and DS and PSP). I imagine running around pulling pranks in the office will become a major past-time in the game. Perhaps it will even have multiplayer! A whole office can function like a “guild” in other games. From there we will compete with other offices to get the most work done thus achieving the most points and attain bragging rights! Oh I can’t wait!

Seriously though, I have never seen a comedy show turned into a video game. I honestly have no clue how it will be done or if it will be successful. It is, however, unique enough for me to keep my eye out on further developments of the game.

Sam & Max on STEAM

samandmax.bmpSo I post a lot of news about Sam & Max, what of it? Its a great series and I am fully 100% in supporting this game and getting the devs, who are an indy company mind you, more publicity to buy this wonderful game. They aren’t even paying me or anything! Scout’s honor!

Seriously though, you can now buy the episodes on Steam. The game is fastly becoming more and more available and there is becoming less and less reason to pay for GameTap, that is unless you use their free version which is WAY worth it.

So if you don’t already have Steam you can download it HERE.

No go play Sam & Max! I demand maniacle, homocidal bunnies as retribution!

P.S. You can get each episode for the low low price of $8.06 each or you can choose one of the bulk packs they offer.

Sam & Max Season 1 Available Soon!

So remember how I have always told you guys to get GameTap for its Sam and Max series? And then ditch em once you actually finish the series? Well now you don’t even have to bother. Sam & Max Season 1 is being prepped for retail this August! You can own a physical copy of your favorite dog and bunny detective duo.

In additon to the entire season you also get a bonus CD with various concepts and “behind the scenes” stuff you’d expect. This will be a must-buy for any fan of the series. Sam and Max games are a rare jewel, lets hope they don’t discontinue the franchise yet again.

Indy Games: Faldon

faldonpic1.jpg

Indy games…why are they so great? Well actually a lot of times they aren’t great. In fact they are often times very cheap, but that doesn’t matter. Why? Because they are free and they are unique. This is one of the many many reasons why the PC is such a great platform. Anybody can make a game and through the miracle that is the internet distribute it. Starting with this blog, we will be featuring a weekly Indy Games segment that highlights one special game. This weeks game is: Faldon.

Faldon is an online rpg. Its not a spectacular game but it is a fun one. It has an open ended world to explore and a skill and level system not unlike the old game Ultima Online. The pvp is completely open except for in the major city, Valour, and at any given time you’ll find at least a handful of people online with which to talk to, which is a lot more than most online rpg games can say. There are some features in this game that most popular MMORPGs still dont feature to this day and those are:

  • Guildhalls

  • Player housing

  • Skill enhancement

  • Pick-pocket thievery

Faldon is free to play and offers a “citizen” model that grants you extra stuff for a mere $5 per month. Looks like a fun game anyways.

You can find the game HERE.
